“I Came Alone and Left with New Friends”: A Look Back at Our New Dinner Series
written by Team Liberty Road
Over the last two months, we gathered in four cities—Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Chicago, and Austin—for our new Meet Me in the Middle Dinner Series. We sold out every night, which told us something we've been feeling for a while: We need this. So much of our culture is structured around the digital experience, which we love, but our whole selves as women come alive when we're together in person.
In each city, Nada interviewed a special guest for a salon-style conversation. In LA, entrepreneur Susan Feldman talked about launching new endeavors in her fifties and sixties. In Newport Beach, interior designer Raili Clasen shared about going after her dream career in her forties and writing a book in her sixties. Producer and coach Sally Lou Loveman and expert and podcast host Dr. Sameena Rahman gathered with us in Chicago to talk about how they launched their successful platforms. And in Austin, we learned from yoga and meditation teacher Kate Waitzkin, coach and podcast host Gabriella Espinosa, and founder Shannon Buth about midlife ventures and adventures.
The nights were deep and fun, thoughtful and connective. "I came alone and left with new friends, a beautiful evening out, and feeling refreshed for this fabulous chapter of life," said one Liberty Road insider. "It's not often you are asked to seek your true North at this age. I was surprised at what came up for me the night of the dinner and the days that followed,” said another.
When we all create space for ourselves to dream and be seen and heard, it's nothing short of magic. We'll be doing more of our Meet Me in the Middle Dinner Series. In the meantime, we're working hard on our annual Liberty Road anchor event, which will be taking place again in Los Angeles on October 10, 2024. Save the date—tickets and more information are coming soon!
