85. Accepting Your Own Challenge: Julie Gordon White

At 55, Julie Gordon White decided to lose her menopause belly fat, become as healthy as possible, and get control of her sweet and salty cravings. Through trial and error, she started making energy bars to keep cravings from sabotaging her effort. Her creation yielded a satisfying snack and resulted in Julie losing 10 pounds, having less brain fog, less fatigue, and feeling ten times better overall! In August 2020, Julie and a mostly menopausal team of experts turned her plant-based recipe into a delicious, all-natural, gluten-free energy bar with powerful ingredients to support female nutrition during menopause. Her MenoWell bars energize women and empower them on their menopausal journey.
In this episode, Nada sits down with Julie to discuss their parallel paths in the entrepreneurial and midlife spaces. Julie shares how she always told her coaching clients not to pursue product-based ventures because the margins are small. Ignoring her own advice, she took on the challenge and created the first-ever functional food formulated for women in the stages of menopause.
