Sweater weather…

The temperature has dropped, and it's time to up your sweater game. Here are a few of our favorite styles at various price points to fill your warm and wooly wardrobe gaps.
My core sweater wardrobe revolves around medium-weight cashmere. The once hefty price tag kept many away; thankfully, they're available in a wide range of prices today. My go-to colors are black, heather gray, and camel. Occasionally, I'll spice things up with a new hue, and this season calls for crimson.
Now that we've covered the basics, it's time for a little personality. No longer reserved for grandma's closet or winter getaways, fair isle styles have made a comeback with a modern twist. Striped sweaters are another great classic, ranging from chunky thick styles to lightweight pullovers for layering.
Tips From Your Style Editor
Colors to Consider: Fresh seasonal colors include browns, reds, and burgundy. While black, camel, gray, and navy are forever classics.
Layering Tips: Change it up by layering a sweater over a button-down shirt or T-shirt. Pull out the cuffs and bottom of the shirt to show, and don't be afraid to wear a chunky sweater over a slip dress.
Fit Tips: Bat-wing and dropped shoulder styles should fit slightly loose and offer a more casual look. For a tailored and slimming fit, choose styles with a higher armhole. These designs have less fabric under your armpit and down the side seam.
Proportions: Wear shorter or cropped sweaters with high-waist pants or maxi skirts. Chunkier style sweaters work best with slimmer-fitting bottoms.
Fabric Care: All cashmere sweaters pill. The fibers in cashmere and other fine yarns rub together to form the annoying small balls that age a sweater. I recommend getting a sweater trimmer to keep them looking new.
