94. How Burning Out and Falling in Love Led to a Dream Realized: Michele Gough Baril

February 7, 2024 | interview by Nada Jones

Michele Gough Baril was burned out after two decades in the beauty industry. She left Los Angeles with her horse Romeo and headed north to Sonoma County to live with a herd of free-roaming horses. Being in nature provided a sanctuary of self-care that transformed her life. It allowed her to ask herself, "What's essential?"

In this episode, Nada sits down with Michele, who takes us on her journey from being a high-level marketing executive at a major cosmetic brand and ultimately reaching beauty industry burnout to the founder of a successful skincare brand. She shares how two great loves in her life, Iris (her mother) and Romeo, gave her the strength to take a chance on herself and her dream. Michele details how her path of self-discovery and re-connection to nature helped her form her company's ethos and establish a new life for herself. And the two discuss their shared goal of slowing down this new year.
